Hi,

When you add a datafile and run rman on standby site of dataguard, you may hit those errors:
RMAN-03002: failure of Duplicate Db command
RMAN-03009: failure of backup command
RMAN-20079: full resync from primary database is not done

Immediately, you try to
RMAN> croscheck arhivelog all;
which contains an implicit resync, but if it does not work like this:
RMAN-03014: implicit resync of recovery catalog failed

try this:
run on your db:
select file_id from dba_data_files;

run on rman catalog database:
select file# from .df;

now, copy missing datafile(s) manually.

It works!

try and pray 🙂
