Xlib: extension “MIT-SHM” missing on display

Problem:

Error when closed a window of xterm

Xlib: extension "MIT-SHM" missing on display


Cause:

That’s because your x-window tool is trying to use shared memory with the server.
Of course, that’s usually impossible if they are not located on the same machine.

Solution:

Use more realictic x-window tools. (like Xmanager instead of Hummingbird Exceed)
