SVR4 Error: 28: No space left on device

Problem:

ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file XXXXX (block # YYYYY)
ORA-27063: skgfospo: number of bytes read/written is incorrect
SVR4 Error: 28: No space left on device
Additional information: -1
Additional information: 122880

Probably a typo, check backup script:

ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch00
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch01
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch02
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch03;
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';

Semicolon (;) character after channel03 causes rman to backup database to disk as default.

Solution

Edit script:

ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch00
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch01
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch02
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch03
TYPE 'SBT_TAPE';
